Amalgamation of Life

How did October fair?

Here is the leftovers from last month – I don’t know how I did all that I did, but somehow I managed and I didn’t collapse, run away and hide, or do anything I’d regret.

  • Read five scripts in my desktop folder
  • Further develop the Scrooge make up with Director
  • Complete the costume design for 1940s
  • Identify and sign up for a conference focused on writing, marketing, and consulting skills (if such a thing exists)
  • Plan next trip with my two sets of girlfriends, plan first solo trip, plan next Disney trip with family and/or friends
  • Don’t panic
    • Three shows
    • Transition between classes in Grad school (Sustainability -> Leadership)
    • Friend and family balance

  • Read and review one show
  • Handle ambiguity of costume (and prop) changes for Laramie (I know they’re coming)
  • Decide whether or not to audition for Titanic, Gypsy, Avenue Q, Our Town (yes, all four are on the docket for the spring)
  • Run 4 to 5 times a week (Half marathon training is in full swing)
  • Time management of three shows
  • Practice of make up – on self, on director, with assistant
  • Delicacy of sizing actors – both male and female

I even managed to fit in a few date nights here and there. There’s a lot of red for things that a) were carry over (again) from September (probably even August), but are still attainable goals and b) are easily pushed off for things that come up (last?) minute (such as a six page paper due in 4 days and another 10 page paper due in 18 days on top of endless reading and discussion board posting). Life has a way of becoming a struggle bus but it’s all about time management and prioritizing, much like one of my more recent post described – you have to evaluate what is and what isn’t a priority to you either in that moment or long-term. ‘Til next time.
