Amalgamation of Life, Director

Oh god, why?

  • Further education

When will this torture be over?

Presumably never. When you take 3-4 graduate classes a year, you should expect to be in school forever. Or what feels like forever. I can’t even remember the year that I started graduate classes, I just remember this ominous sense of dread breathing down the back of my neck.

It’s still there.

An accounting of the classes I’ve taken so far:

Statistical Analysis Management
Behavioral Science in Business
Finance and Managerial Accounting
Prices and Market
Operations Management
Marketing Management
Full Range Leadership
Sustainability
Global Culture Management
Ethical Dimensions of Leadership

It wasn’t until just now, completing this simple list of what I had completed, a composition of what is under my belt did I realize how far I’ve come. I honestly can’t believe I am as far along in my course load as I am. Only 18 more hours of work, six of which are my capstone class.

That means I only have four more classes to take. Two more semesters until I’ve obtained my MBA after I complete this spring semester. I can’t believe it. By this time next year, I’ll be a few weeks away from graduating with my first masters.

I’ll be a director.
I’ll have my masters.
I’ll be well on my way towards *real* adulthood.
I am stunned and thrilled.

It’s amazing what a little bit of dedication, self accountability, thoughtful planning and a bit of hard work will get you in life.
